Ones & Zeros

A self initiated Interactive project showcased in a mock research publication featuring notable work from artists that intersects code, data and art.

All visuals in the publication were coded for a personal project where I surveyed a group of people on their bad habits.

Participants were asked to interact with a processing/ Java sketch by pressing the key on the keyboard that was assigned to the bad habits they had (ex. s = smoking, p = procrastination). Each key press prompted a visual/pattern to pop up on the screen layering one by one and thus creating a piece of art that visualized the participants bad habit. The collection of results was showcased in a publication supported by work from other artists who work in the intersection of code and design.

The results from this survey were displayed next to each other making it very easy to spot the most common bad habits. For example nail biting would show 3 black squares on the screen and this was immediately identifiable in the results as a common bad habit.
